Now is the time to Nominate…
for open positions on the WCAA Board of Managers

The Wesleyan College Alumnae Association (WCAA) has two open positions on its governing board of managers that need to be filled immediately for a term that will end in June 2023.

Interested alumnae should send an e-mail to wesleyanalumnominations@gmail.com and let the nominations committee know of their interest in these positions. 

 

Member-at -Large for Diversity & Inclusion

The Member-at-large for Diversity & Inclusion shall serve as a liaison between the students of Wesleyan College and the WCAA / Office of Alumnae Affairs.

  • Partner with Wesleyan College’s Chief Diversity Officer to create and implement programs for diversity, inclusion and equity among alumnae and students
  • Chairs alumnae committee on diversity & inclusion and helps develop events to cultivate connections between historically underrepresented student populations and historically underrepresented alumnae populations
  • Develops and implements programs and initiatives to educate alumnae on diversity and inclusion efforts on campus
  • Develops and implements programs and initiatives to create a more inclusive community
  • among alumnae focusing on aspects of diversity, inclusion, and equity
  • Perform duties of the Member-at-Large for Diversity & Inclusion as prescribed by the Board of Managers in accordance with the Bylaws of the WCAA
  • Attend all meetings of the Board of Managers (3 per year in October / February / May), the annual board retreat, and report on alumnae / student activities at each meeting of the Board
  • Serve a three year term with fiduciary responsibilities to the College and as a board member

Member-at -Large for Student Relations

The Member-at-large for Student Relations shall serve as a liaison between the students of Wesleyan College and the WCAA / Office of Alumnae Affairs.

  • Inform students of the function and purpose of the WCAA and educate them on future responsibilities as alumnae of the College
  • Meet with elected student leaders periodically to determine ways in which alumnae can enrich the Wesleyan experience of students and communicate student needs/concerns to the Board of Managers
  • Partner with the Office of Career Development / Student Life / Alumnae Office to plan ways for alumnae to enhance the student experience
  • Create opportunities for individual and group alumnae / student interaction through Alumnae Mentor programs, seminars, convocations, panel discussions, etc.
  • Work with the Alumnae Office in maintaining and growing annual student programs such as Senior Midnight Breakfast, Junior Java, Senior Toast, Candlelighting, etc. that cultivate sisterhood and loyalty to the College
  • Serve as a liaison between Young Alumnae and students to encourage alumnae / student connections
  • Work with VP for Public Relations / Student Life / Alumnae Office to publicize programs/services offered to students by the WCAA
  • Perform duties of the Member-at-Large for Student Relations as prescribed by the Board of Managers in accordance with the Bylaws of the WCAA
  • Attend all meetings of the Board of Managers (3 per year in October / February / May), the annual board retreat, and report on alumnae / student activities at each meeting of the Board
