Community Equestrian Programs

Wesleyan’s Community Lesson Program provides an all-encompassing experience of learning to ride and gaining the knowledge to care for horses. Offering quality instruction for intermediate to advanced skill level riders ages 10 and up. We help students develop responsibility, sportsmanship, leadership skills, and self-confidence. A boot with a heel that is at least one-half-inch and long pants are required attire for all lessons. SEI approved riding helmets available for use.

  • 60-minute private lesson - $60 

The Wesleyan College Nancy Ellis Knox Equestrian Center focuses on teaching students the fundamentals of riding and all facets of caring for a horse. 

60-minute private and semi-private lessons include:
  • Grooming prior to your ride 
  • Tacking up your horse 
  • Riding instruction in a safe and educational environment 
  • Grooming after your ride and returning horse to a stall

 

 

Additional Offerings

Horse Boarding

The Nancy Ellis Knox Equestrian Center at Wesleyan College offers boarding with limited openings.  

Full care board includes:

  • 12 x 12 stall
  • Individual turnout
  • Feed & hay twice a day
  • Boarder tack room with locker
  • Large arena with lights and sprinkler system
  • Small covered arena with lights. 
  • Riding Instructors on the premises
