Wesleyan’s online business administration degree offers three concentrations.
Students who plan on entering the workplace following graduation will benefit from increased knowledge relating to human resources, conflict management, and employer-employee relations in governmental, for-profit, and non-profit organizations in both public and private sectors.
The strategic management concentration emphasizes the leadership qualities, strategies, and actions needed for running a profitable business and optimizing its operational success. Students will learn about the decisions, commitments, and actions a firm should undertake to gain and sustain superior performance relative to competitors. Students who complete this concentration will be able to lead organizations, diagnose the competitive challenges facing a firm, make informed decisions, maximize opportunities, and formulate and implement strategies (including corporate, business, international, etc.) to drive organizational success. Whether as strategic analysts, consultants, or executives, their comprehensive perspective and strategic thinking will make them valuable assets in today's dynamic and competitive business landscape.
*Digital Marketing is also offered as a stand-alone minor.
Year-round admission means you can enroll at any time and complete your coursework whenever and wherever suits you best. Plus, your professional work experience will be considered for academic credit. At Wesleyan, financial aid is available, there are no hidden costs, and the technology requirements are minimal. Every student has dedicated support from award winning faculty and the tutoring center plus full access to Willet Library.
Numerous internship opportunities are available for business majors, and students quickly realize the benefits of being exposed to and working within their fields of interest. It is not uncommon for an internship to lead to a job offer. The business degree prepares students for a profession and a career, while providing for immediate employment. Consequently, although some graduates pursue an MBA or other graduate degree, most enter the workforce immediately following graduation. Recent graduates are working for Arthur Andersen, Dow Chemical, Ernst and Young, the Department of Revenue, City Bank of London, Coca-Cola, and SunTrust Bank.
Earn a Master’s degree in an additional 12-18 months, saving both time and money. Students can take up to 6 credit hours in one of our graduate programs, while still enrolled as an undergraduate student.
