Faculty Positions: 

Assistant / Associate Professor in Nursing

The Division of Nursing at Wesleyan College invites individuals seeking faculty positions in nursing. Positions are academic full-time, tenure track faculty appointments that include didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate BSN level, faculty service, professional service and scholarship. Screening of applicant credentials will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled. Rank and salary based on qualifications and experience.

Required qualifications for Nursing faculty include a master’s degree in nursing with specialization in adult health, demonstrated clinical nursing experience and a current RN license in state of Georgia. Preferred qualifications include Doctoral degree and/or experience teaching in a baccalaureate degree in nursing program and an established program of scholarship and/or faculty clinical practice.

Department Chair, Associate Professor of Economics, and Director of the Hybrid Evening Business/Economics Program

Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position at the associate professor level to head up our Business and Economics program beginning in August 2018. Excellence in teaching is our first priority, though the ability to administrate a program and a commitment to scholarly activity are expected.  Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Economics or related discipline and the ability to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department is especially interested in finding someone to teach macroeconomics, history of economic thought, money & banking and international business courses. Courses in managerial economics and global business are available in our MBA program.  Teaching load is six courses in academic year.

We are seeking someone to provide vision and leadership to our business and economics program and to re-vitalize our evening business major including increasing the number of online/hybrid courses offered. The applicant must be a collaborative leader and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Adjunct Biology Instructor for Spring, 2018


Ph.D. in Biology preferred, MS in Biology required. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of biology teaching experience at the undergraduate level; candidates with at least four years of high school biology teaching experience are also encouraged to apply. This adjunct will be responsible for teaching a four credit hour non-science major hybrid evening course designed to introduce undergraduate students to the study of living systems, with a special emphasis on human biology.  Laboratory exercises for this course will be held in the Munroe Science Center, a $12 million state-of-the-art teaching and research facility; lecture material will be delivered electronically. Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching of diverse learners and must be proficient with common laboratory instrumentation; facility with Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word and Excel is also required and familiarity with videoconferencing systems (eg., Zoom or other platforms) is preferred.

Staff Positions: 


Director of Residence Life

The Director of Residence Life is responsible for the operation of the Residence Life Program at Wesleyan College.  This position provides housing services for residential students, supervises and trains Resident Advisors and coordinates programming in the residence halls pertaining to the residential curriculum.  This position reports to the Dean of Students.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
Provides Housing Services

  • Select, train, and supervise Resident Advisors
  • Assign rooms, conduct housing selection, facilitate and process necessary room changes during the semester
  • Coordinate check-in and check-out process for the residence halls
  • Handle holiday and spring break housing for domestic and international students as needed and coordinates early and late check-in/out requests
  • Monitor maintenance and upkeep of residence halls
  • Review and revise residence hall policies
  • Maintain housing records

Coordinates Residence Hall Programming

  • Work with Resident Advisors to provide programming
  • Track attendance and completion of floor programs for resident satisfaction
  • Ensure intentional interaction in the residence halls using the residence curriculum

Serves on College Committees

  • Food Service Committee
  • Administrative Operations Team (A-Team)
  • Student Support Team
  • President’s Climate Commitment Committee
    • Subcommittee member for Sustainability and Building Energy Usage
  • New Student Orientation Committee

Judicial Services

  • Serve as Advisor for the Council on Judicial Affairs and provide ongoing training to student board members
  • Serve as a campus resource for judicial concerns, questions and procedure
  • Educate students and faculty regarding judicial policies and procedures
  • Handle sanctions and removal of students from the residence halls when necessary
  • Evaluate and revise judicial policies and sanctions

Other Responsibilities

  • Oversee Residential-based summer conferences in conjunction with Director of Auxiliary Services
  • Select, hire, and train Summer Conference Assistants and Summer Leads for Residence Life
  • Participate in Student Affairs Emergency on-call system
  • Participate as a member of the Student Affairs team and the Wesleyan College Community by assisting with on-campus activities and attending events
  • Stay current with issues in residence life in the field of student affairs through involvement in professional organizations
  • Maintain budget records
  • Coordinate yearly revisions and publication of the Wesleyanne Student Handbook
  • Prepare, deliver, and tabulate the end of the year Residence Life Assessment for all residential students
  • Coordinate and/or assist with special projects and committees as designated by the Dean of Students

Qualifications
Master’s degree in student personnel services or related field required.  A minimum of two years of residence life or student affairs experience preferred.  The position requires demonstrated skills in ability to work with diverse populations, communication, flexibility, organization, leadership, crisis management, community development, and human relations.

This is a full-time, 12 month position with the option to live-in.  Compensation includes: competitive salary with benefits package, a furnished apartment with utilities, cable, and data included, and membership to college fitness center.

Drivers -Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)  

Wesleyan College seeks to hire drivers with a current CDL to be part of an on-call list. Drivers will be utilized to transport students, student athletes, and other members of the Wesleyan community for various events and activities. The hours will vary to include weekends and evenings, and in some cases overnight stays may be required. Applicants should possess the following:

  • Current CDL license
  • Pass a background check
  • Have no DMV violations within the last two (2) years

Wesleyan College (on-call) Police Officer

On-Call Police Officers are called in on an as needed basis and just like the full-time police officer staff, they are required to protect the lives and properties of the Wesleyan College Community. On-Call officers fill in for full-time officers when they need time off. This could be a prepared leave time or an emergency leave time, which means On-Call officers must provide a schedule of their availability. On-Call officers will be required to cover a 12 hour (8am-8pm/8pm-8am) shift when called upon, and during special college events that require additional officers. They are required to respond professionally to the need for detection and prevention of crimes. Officers must be prepared to maintain law and order. On-Call officers are required to patrol the entire campus property by vehicle, and some by foot. On-Call officers duties also include traffic enforcement, accident reporting, and criminal investigations. On-Call officers are expected to secure physical structures on the campus and maintain a daily activity log. On-Call officers will provide security at social and athletic events, conduct safety inspections, control and direct traffic, enforce college rules and regulations, issue parking citations, and enforce the law governing the state, and other duties as defined by supervisors.

Job Qualifications:
Candidates must be twenty-one years of age, and have a valid driver’s license. All applicants must be certified through the Georgia Peace Officers Standard and Training Council. Must be in good physical condition, and able to work any shift. Must be able to handle stressful situations and be an effective communicator.
