Stephen is a scholar and theatre maker originally from London, England. In 2003 he moved to New York City and shortly thereafter taught and directed Shakespeare at NYU Tisch School of the Arts/ Atlantic Acting School. Much more theatre making followed before he moved to Macon in 2010. He moved north again to study for his Ph. D in Shakespeare and Clowning at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) which he earned in 2018. On graduating he spent a year traveling around Georgia registering people to vote before spending 4 years teaching and directing at MGA. Stephen's book on Shakespeare's use of clowns in his Tragedy and History plays is currently under contract with Routledge.
