Faculty Positions

Full-Time Math Instructor

Wesleyan College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full-Time Math Instructor who will teach college level introductory math classes at a local high school and on Wesleyan’s campus.  Position will also include math tutoring on Wesleyan’s campus.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher in Math or Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Math from a regionally accredited college/university. Excellent classroom management, organizational, communication, technology, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in the post-secondary environment.

Assistant / Associate Professor in Nursing

The Division of Nursing at Wesleyan College invites individuals seeking faculty positions in nursing. Positions are academic full-time, tenure track faculty appointments that include didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate BSN level, faculty service, professional service and scholarship. Staff Positions 

Director of Health Services

Purpose of Position
The Director of Health Services is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the College Health center. All services promote wellness through quality medical treatment, preventive health care, health education, and other activities related to attaining and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The Director monitors all aspects of the department's daily operations, including staff supervision, budget management, crisis support, and preparation of reports. Some weekend and evening time commitments will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Nurse Practitioner provides primary health care to students and employees at the Health Center under the supervision of the campus physician, written approval protocols, and the Nurse Practice Act of Georgia.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and sensitivity in all interactions with patients and staff regardless of cultural, racial/ethnic background, sexual orientation or gender expression.
  • Advance the mission and goals of the Division of Student Affairs through strategic planning, innovative thinking and assessment;
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff and interns in the department;
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements as set by FERPA, HIPAA, federal, state, local requirements and professional licensing standards.
  • Maintains an understanding of the social and environmental context of health on the college campus.
  • Design programs and services for a diverse student population, including racial and ethnic diversity, socio-economic status, nationality, physical and mental abilities, and sexual identity.
  • Ensure the Centers follow best practices including a trauma informed approach to serving survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and other sexual misconduct.
  • Collaborate with other departments and offices to proactively respond to student concerns including Athletics, Residential Education, Campus Safety, the Title IX Office and the Colleges' academic support services.
  • Participate in rotating after-hours on-call emergency coverage, including telephone and on-site consultation when necessary.
  • Participate with campus committees as needed.

Required qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Current Georgia RN/NP licensure
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
  • Current CPR certification

Preferred: Prior experience in college health facility, urgent care or family practice with management or supervisory experience.

Head Tennis/Cross Country Coach

Wesleyan College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Tennis/Cross Country Coach. Founded in 1836, Wesleyan was the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women. Tennis and Cross Country Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Coaching, recruiting and managing all aspects of the Wesleyan College Tennis and Cross Country programs in accordance to NCAA Division III and USA South Athletic rules and policies.
  • Teaching in the Sport Management Program and Health Physical Education (HPE) courses (beginning/intermediate tennis, other classes assigned based on qualifications)
  • Provide support to the athletic program for game day operations and camps/clinics.
  • Plan organize, and manage traditional and non-traditional seasons.
  • Recruitment of qualified student athletes for both programs to meet departmental goals for recruitment and rosters.
  • Plan and direct physical conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance in conjunction with the certified strength and conditioning coach.
  • Manage team and departmental equipment appropriately; maintain budgetary responsibilities for the program in accordance with Wesleyan College policies.
  • Collaborate with Physical Plant staff for maintenance of tennis facility.
  • Maintain ITA and Direct Athletics records and report scores as necessary to the Sports Information Director.
  • Community outreach efforts in conjunction with SAAC Advisor
  • Manage and ensure safety of the tennis complex and communicate appropriately with support personnel and Athletic Director.
  • Other duties as assigned based on qualifications.

This position reports to the Athletic Director and requires demonstrated skills in communication, collaboration, flexibility, organization, leadership, problem-solving, human relations, and ability to work with diverse populations. Three to five years recruiting and collegiate coaching experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in sport management or related field preferred.  Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Online Academic Advisor

Wesleyan College seeks an experienced academic advisor to help our online students successfully navigate to degree completion. The Online Academic Advisor is responsible for building and maintaining an ongoing partnership with each online student and facilitating all activities related to monitoring enrollment, encouraging course completion, addressing roadblocks to academic success, and connecting online students with support services as needed.  Based on qualifications, the Online Academic Advisor will also teach 2-3 online courses per year.

Vice President for Business and Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Wesleyan College (Macon, GA) announces a national search for Vice President for Business and Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the College.  This position reports to the president of the College and serves on the President’s Cabinet. Working collaboratively with other campus leaders, the CFO oversees all financial and business operations of the College; implements the College’s strategic plan for maintaining fiscal responsibility; manages contracts; and oversees financial services, risk management, campus police, Computer and Information Resources, physical plant, and auxiliary services. The CFO provides financial reports and trends to the Board of Trustees and serves as Cabinet liaison to the following committees of the Board: Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Investment Committee, and Building and Grounds Committee.

The successful candidate will be a strong, innovative leader with an entrepreneurial spirit who motivates others and builds consensus toward strategic directions and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; Master’s degree (preferred); and/or current CPA (preferred)
  • Minimum ten years of progressive experience in business, finance, and/or accounting, preferably in a non-profit or higher education institution; three-five years in a leadership position

Director of the Lane Center

The Director of the Lane Center develops, plans, and implements programs and activities designed to prepare Wesleyan students, faculty and staff to engage in service to their communities. The Director must have a rich understanding and appreciation for the goals of the Lane Center and a proven ability to mobilize volunteers for service.

The Lane Center for Service and Leadership was established in 2002 as a focal point of community service and engagement in Central Georgia and to serve as a role model for college and community collaboration nationally.

Primary functions:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Lane Center, including budgeting, assessment, and reporting on outreach activities and programs
  • Implement programs that provide hands on service opportunities
  • Provide educational opportunities and resources related to service learning:
    • Meet regularly with faculty who include service learning in their courses
    • Teach one section of HMS 299 each semester, addressing theory and including a service component
    • Develop assessment tools to assess service and service learning
    • Provide leadership development activities for students
  • Supervise Wesleyan College students, student workers, and community volunteers who participate in Lane Center activities
  • Plan and promote biannual WOW! A Day activities to expose the campus community to local service agencies
  • Oversee Aunt Maggie’s Kitchen Table Outreach Center
  • Coordinate transportation to and from Lane Center activities for volunteers
  • Represent Wesleyan in community meetings and outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with Advancement staff to secure funding for Lane Center projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years professional experience
  • Working knowledge of the role of service and volunteer initiatives
  • At least three years’ experience in community development, non-profit management
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A proven record of personal service and servant leadership

  • Higher Education experience

Drivers -Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)  

Wesleyan College seeks to hire drivers with a current CDL to be part of an on-call list. Drivers will be utilized to transport students, student athletes, and other members of the Wesleyan community for various events and activities. The hours will vary to include weekends and evenings, and in some cases overnight stays may be required. Applicants should possess the following:

Wesleyan College (on-call) Police Officer

On-Call Police Officers are called in on an as needed basis and just like the full-time police officer staff, they are required to protect the lives and properties of the Wesleyan College Community. On-Call officers fill in for full-time officers when they need time off. This could be a prepared leave time or an emergency leave time, which means On-Call officers must provide a schedule of their availability. On-Call officers will be required to cover a 12 hour (8am-8pm/8pm-8am) shift when called upon, and during special college events that require additional officers. They are required to respond professionally to the need for detection and prevention of crimes. Officers must be prepared to maintain law and order. On-Call officers are required to patrol the entire campus property by vehicle, and some by foot. On-Call officers duties also include traffic enforcement, accident reporting, and criminal investigations. On-Call officers are expected to secure physical structures on the campus and maintain a daily activity log. On-Call officers will provide security at social and athletic events, conduct safety inspections, control and direct traffic, enforce college rules and regulations, issue parking citations, and enforce the law governing the state, and other duties as defined by supervisors.

Job Qualifications:
Candidates must be twenty-one years of age, and have a valid driver’s license. All applicants must be certified through the Georgia Peace Officers Standard and Training Council. Must be in good physical condition, and able to work any shift. Must be able to handle stressful situations and be an effective communicator.

Campus Police Officer

The Wesleyan College Campus Police Department is currently seeking qualified, professional candidates for the position of Campus Police Officer. Police Officers are required to protect the lives and properties of the Wesleyan College Community. Officers are required to perform a variety of duties related to the protection of life and property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, prevention of crime, preservation of the public peace, apprehension of criminals, and calls for service.

Officers are required to patrol the entire campus property by vehicle, and some by foot. Officer’s duties also include traffic enforcement, accident reporting, and criminal investigations. Officers are expected to secure physical structures on the campus, and maintain daily log entries of activities. Officers will provide security at social and athletic events, conduct safety

inspections, control and direct traffic, enforce college rules and regulations, issue parking citations, and enforce the law governing the state and other duties as defined by supervisor.

All applicants must have completed the required training course for a police officer at a Georgia Police Academy and received a certificate of graduation as required by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Act.
